To express my wish that an owl might one day deliver my Hogwarts acceptance letter,
I made this Hogwarts Acceptance Letter iPad Pouch.
I based the size on an iPad Air 4 with a case on.
Yarn: Yarn Bee – Breathe Deep, Super Bulky, color Coconut (100 g)
Needles: 5 mm knitting needles
[Button]
Diameter: –
Thread: Brown embroidery floss
Hook: 2 mm crochet hook
Stitch (Embroidery): Brown embroidery floss
In the pattern, each row shows the stitch count, and the increase/decrease sections are marked in color.
-
Red → knit-side increase (inc on RS / kfb or M1 as indicated)
-
Green → loop cast-on increase
-
Sky blue → knit-side decrease (k2tog / ssk depending on the side)
-
Orange → bind-off decrease
-
Purple → purl-side decrease (purl dec on WS)
For each type of decrease, it will be much easier if you refer to the video.
And for those who still find the chart confusing,
I also organized the stitch counts row by row!

[Embroidery – Lettering]
I searched “Hogwarts envelope” to find a reference for the lettering.
Then I traced it onto the knitted fabric using a fabric marker,
and embroidered it stitch by stitch with embroidery floss.
My embroidery skills are pretty terrible,
but the original Harry Potter font is meant to look uneven and quirky,
so it doesn’t look too strange, right?!
(I used three strands of brown embroidery floss.)
But… when I had only a few letters left,
I suddenly realized I had been embroidering upside down the whole time…
Please make sure you check the direction before you start.
Learn from my mistakes! 😂
[Button]
Prepare a button that’s about 2 cm in diameter.
We will crochet two identical circles—one for the front and one for the back—
and wrap the button with them.
For the yarn, I used red embroidery floss to give it a sealing-wax look,
and a 2 mm crochet hook
